"The angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord." Luke 2:10-11
Dear Family and Friends,
It is hard to believe that Christmas is just around the corner and the new year will be here before we know it! This time of year is so busy for all of us, but I am trying to slow down and appreciate all of our blessings.
Cole continues to amaze us and entertain us everyday! His personality is shining through for sure.
His vocabulary is growing and we now have to watch what we say in front of him. I always made fun of parents who spelled words in front of their kids and now I do the same thing! He is picking up on 2 syllable words and we are working on talking in phrases instead of single words.
His gross motor skills are improving too. He is almost an independent walker! He stands unassisted for a few minutes at a time. He pulls up in his crib and walks from end to end while holding onto the rails. He can take a few steps unassisted, but then loses his balance and needs help. He is so determined to walk on his own and we are praying it will be close to his 2nd birthday that he is officially walking independently. We had our last day of physical therapy with Mike on Thursday. She has been our therapist for 1.5 years. She has worked so hard with Cole and we will forever be grateful for her determination and ability to push Cole to be his best. We will be going to a new PT next year thanks to insurance.
He loves balls and wants to chase them around the house all day. We moved his toy chest out of the den last week when we hosted Cy's company Christmas party at our house. He hasn't even noticed that the toys are gone!! As long as there are balls to kick, shutters to open and close, door knobs to turn, and drawers of tupperware to empty, he is happy!
I am now 22 weeks pregnant and we confirmed that we are having a boy! We are thrilled and know that Cole will be a great big brother. I am excited to see the relationship between brothers. We are trying to prepare Cole for the new baby. He thinks everyone has a baby in their tummy. He loves to look in the mirror and pat my tummy and his tummy as well!
We would appreciate your continued prayers for Cole's development.
It brings tears to my eyes to think of the progress that he has made in the past 2 years. We know that his progress is all due to healing from the Lord. Please also continue to pray for an uneventful and full term pregnancy for me. I go to the doctor every 10 days. We are praying that this little guy continues to grow and develop and will be born in mid-April.
I pray that each of you have a very Merry Christmas.
I added lots of new pictures on page 1 of the photo gallery.
Love,
Ali
