Good Morning,
We have been talking to the doctors over the past 2 days and they feel that a reservoir is needed. Cole's fluid continues to build up and his FOC (head circumference) is growing.
The surgery to insert the reservoir will be today. Cole is an "add on" to the surgery list, so we won't know the exact time until later this morning.
The neurosurgeons keep assuring us that this is a very routine surgery-they do 15-20 each week at TCH. However, when it is your baby that is having brain surgery, nothing is routine. The surgery will take under an hour and Cole will be back in his bed in about 2 hours.
Please pray that the Lord's healing hand would be wrapped around Cole today. Pray that the surgery would be successful and Cole would have no problems with the
anesthesia and would come off of the ventilator easily.
Our nurse helped us with our first photo shoot of Cole yesterday! We will update this evening with pictures and the results of his surgery.
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, the God of comfort, who comforts us all in our afflictions so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
