Cole is off to a great start this week!
He got to try out the swing today. He never made a peep so I am guessing he liked it! Check out the photo gallery to see the proof.
Cole had his hearing screening last Friday and he passed in both ears.
He now weighs 6 lbs and is 18 1/2 inches long.
He is still working on his bottles. His suck, swallow and breathe coordination does seem to be improving now that he is working with an occupational therapist. He gets 54 ccs of milk at each feeding and usually takes 10-20 ccs through his bottle. So, please pray that he will catch on soon as eating from a bottle is a requirement for coming home.
Cole continues to have spinal fluid build up in his brain and the neurosurgeons tap his reservoir 3 times each week. We are still praying that the Lord would heal his brain completely and a shunt won't be needed.
As always, thank you for your continued prayers and support. We know that the Lord is answering our prayers. Last week a developmental pediatrician did an extensive assessment on Cole. She gave us a very encouraging report with many strengths and only a few weaknesses in Cole's development. She also noted a few areas where Cole was above average for his age! :)
"Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through Lord Jesus Christ." Romans 5:1
Love,
Ali and Cy
