Friends,
We said in a previous email that Cole may need additional help in the future. This week we noticed that the fluid in his head was starting to build again so we went back to TCH. Some of the doctors wanted to go ahead and put in the shunt. However, one neurosurgeon agreed with us and decided that we should give him more time to see if his body can self resolve.
Cole is acting normal, tolerating his feeds and being a normal newborn baby. In fact, he is gulping down his bottles. We usually have to add more to each bottle because he is still hungry when he finishes! He weighed 8 lb 2 oz and was 20 1/2 inches long at his check up on Monday.
The bottom line is- we would like to ask each of you to plead with God to continue to heal Cole. We will trust in the Lord no matter what the outcome is. We are confident that he can remain shunt free if God so chooses. Please pray with us for this blessing for Cole. If you could take a few minutes to praise the Lord for his goodness and ask Him for Cole's healing we would be grateful.
